One more person has lost their life to the deadly coronavirus disease as Ghana’s case count continues to rise.
This brings to 11 the total number of deaths while the total case count reaches 1,550 from the previous figure of 1,279.
Ghana’s epicentre, the Greater Accra Region, has recorded 258 more cases from its last count just two days ago.
The Region’s total tally of 1,347 went beyond the previous national tally.
These are results from the backlog of tests being run by the major laboratories in the country, the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has clarified.
There’s a steady surge in the cases from the Oti Region, which until Friday, April 24 had not recorded any case.
From its first 13 cases, the Region is now the fourth with the highest number of cases in the regional breakdown. It’s tally is now 17, which is same as the Central Region.
The Ashanti Region has so far recorded 69 cases while the Eastern Region is at 57.
There are no new cases in almost all the other regions with Savannah, Bono East, Bono and Ahafo regions yet to record cases.
Twenty-one persons have recovered from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 155.
