The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has concluded investigations into corruption allegations levelled against Mr. Charles Adu Boahen, a former Minister of State at the Finance Ministry.
According to the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, his office will soon issue directives and further action on the matter in due course.
This was contained in the OSP’s first half year report released on Tuesday July 4.
Portions of the report reads as follows: “The corruption allegations are contained in an investigative documentary titled, Galamsey Economy – published by Tiger Eye P.I. and the investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
The investigations were launched following a referral by the President of the Republic in respect of suspected corruption and corruption-related offences regarding Charles Adu Boahen.
The referral came after President Akufo-Addo terminated the appointment of Mr Adu Boahen, with immediate effect.
A statement from the Director of Communications at the Jubilee House, Eugene Arhin indicated that the President took the decision after being made “aware of the allegations levelled against the Minister in the exposé, ‘Galamsey Economy.”
“The President thanked Mr. Adu Boahen for his strong services to his government since his appointment in 2017, and wished him well in his future endeavours.”
