Last Friday was like a movie to many as the 3FM Drive Bus Ride once again brought Accra to a standstill.
Now the most sought after event on radio, the ride constantly attracts hundreds of patrons each time the bus hits the streets.
Last Friday’s was the third in the series of rides that will continuously take Accra by storm.
The first two editions – on December 13 and December 23 – got Accra talking and the third edition – on Friday, January 3 – was no different.
Friday’s ride had an impressive blend of good music, information, food, drinks and activities.
The ride, hosted by Giovani Caleb and Berla Mundi, kicked off from Adesa We, passed through 37 to Accra Mall, Spintex Road – where the bus made a stop at Papaye – then to the Junction Mall.
From Adesa We, Comedian OB Amponsah got everyone laughing as he gave off rib cracking jokes.
At 37, the bus picked up rapper Yung Papi who wowed everyone with his dope rap lines. He received loud cheers from passengers on the bus.
At the Accra Mall, two of the hottest acts in the country currently – Kofi Mole and Quamina MP – brought heat to the bus.
They got into their elements as soon as they boarded the bus. They charged the atmosphere with back to back hit songs.
Kofi Mole dished out hit songs like, ‘Dont Be Late’, ‘Mensah’, while Quamina MP performed songs like ‘Wiase’ and ‘Amanfuor Girls’.
It was a non-stop party from Accra Mall to Papaye where the bus picked legend reggae musician Rocky Dawuni.
After a brief interview with the Grammy nominated act and also an activation at the Papaye with Malta Guinness, the bus was on its way to the Junction Mall.
Rocky Dawuni never disappoint; he took the mic to perform some of his well-known songs including ‘In Ghana’.
After that rare performance, the bus made a last stop at Junction Mall were some passengers and shoppers tried their karaoke skills to win some amazing prices – Malta Guinness and fabrics.
For the first time, Chrystal hosted her radio show, ‘Friday Block Party’ live from the bus. It was the perfect climax to an adventure-filled Bus Ride.
