RuffTown Records to ax Fantana for beefing with Wendy Shay

The never-ending drama between RuffTown Records signees, Wendy Shay and Fantana has reached its echelons.

The beef between the two female acts has gone from bad to worse forcing the label to call for an emergency meeting on Monday.

According to a letter sighted by 3news.com, management of the label is set to meet Fantana at their offices in East Legon to abrogate its contract with her.

For several months now, RuffTown Records, owned by Bullet, has managed to live with the tension between the two acts.

But things took a turn for the worse after Fantana claimed in an interview that Wendy Shay has not achieved anything internationally and therefore she, just like herself, is a local champion.

That did not go down well with Wendy Shay who took to Instagram to throw a jab at her label mate. “Some artiste can create news but can’t create hit songs. Ask how much Betplanet paid me…”

She then said in German: “Mit große Zähne macht man keine Hitsongs…Ich mach Kohle Und scheiß auf euch alle” which translates as “You don’t make hit songs with big teeth…I make coal and sh*t on all of you.”

That jab forced Fantana to also go on Instagram live all guns blazing. The ‘Girls Hate On Girls’singer who was clearly hurt by the attacks on her teeth, attacked Wendy Shay and the record label.

In a bid to disprove that she is not a local champion as being claimed by Fantana, Wendy Shay shared a post of a story about her songs making waves in New Zealand.

“We act local but we think GLOBAL.. GLOBAL CHAMPION Das Internet lügt nicht…manche Künstler können zum Google Übersetzer rennen , aber kann meine Erfolge nicht googeln.. faule Künstlerin Ich hab wieder was für dich zum übersetzen,” the ‘Uber Driver hit maker said.

Fantana later posted series of video explaining some of the happenings at the label.

After the nasty drama, management of RuffTown Records shared a letter titled: ‘Request For A Mutual Termination Meeting’

Signed by CEO Ricky Nana Agyeman, popularly known as Bullet, the letter noted with concerns comments made by Fantana during her Instagram live session.

“The management of Rufftown Records’ [hereinafter called Management] attention has been drawn to two separate incidents that have taken place in the last two days on Instagram live by your good self. This has been the basis for numerous post and discussions by various bloggers in the country,” the letter said.

Management of RuffTown Records added that “In these live broadcasts, you made certain statements and raised issues which in the view of management seeks to dint the hard-earned reputation of the company within the music industry.

“In view of this, management would like to request a meeting between yourself and management to enable us commence discussions on your future dealings with the record label,” the letter noted.

The decision of the label is a culmination of months of back and forth between the two acts.

Fantana, in 2019, gave the strongest indication that all was not well between them when she alleged in a post on Instagram that Wendy Shay has been bullying her since she joined the label.

Her allegation was triggered by a post by Bullet who posted a list of names of “the true Rufftown family” omitting Fantana’s name.
