Actor Elikem Kumordzie has disclosed that he will sew and distribute 500 pieces of custom-made face masks to Ghanaians.

As Ghana and the world battle the deadly Coronavirus (Covid-19), the actor, who is also a tailor, says it is his small way of helping fight the menace.

Elikem Kumordzie, who was placed under mandatory quarantine after arriving in Ghana from South Africa, recently disclosed that he has tested negative for the disease.

The ‘Big Brother Africa’ star, who was among some 1030 persons who were placed under mandatory quarantine by the government, will, however, remain in quarantine for some more days.

He is expected to undergo a second testing after the isolation period.

The celebrity fashion designer, in a post on Instagram, revealed that the shortage of clinical masks has spurred him on to lend a helping hand.

While he admits that his masks are not clinically approved, Elikem said he is hopeful it will help stop the spread of coronavirus.

“In a country like the Czech Republic, for example, they have recorded the lowest cases in Europe so far because everybody is advised to wear a face mask,” the actor said.

Elikem added that “So guys I advise you to wear your face masks whenever going out. I have been able to produce 500 pieces of face masks, free of charge to be distributed.”
