Former Member of Parliament for Subin Constituency Eugene Boakye Antwi has taken a swipe at New Patriotic Party (NPP) General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, saying he has no moral rights to present himself for re-election.
The former Deputy Minister said by the results of the 2024 elections, Justin Kodua Frimpong has become the worst-performing scribe in the history of the NPP.
He added, consequently, that all previous General Secretaries who had taken the NPP into opposition had resigned or lost elections, therefore, it will be prudent for Justin Kodua not to seek re-election.
Speaking on Onua TV on Monday, August 31, Mr Boakye Antwi said the current General Secretary had promised to increase the seats of the party, after more than 50 seats were lost in the 2020 elections.
“The incumbent General Secretary, prior to coming to power, said the previous Secretary, John Boadu, lost 32 seats in one election cycle and was too much,” he stated.
“And he has come to lose 50 and John Boadu even kept us in government but this one has taken us to opposition.”
He said news that Subin delegates have thrown their support for Mr Kodua Frimpong are all propaganda and that only two out of the 19 delegates spoke to offer support during an interaction with the General Secretary.
He believes that if allowed to open up on their votes, 16 out of the 19 delegates will be for him.
