Members of the Ghana Association of Certified Registered Anaesthetists (GACRA) have been directed to resume delivery of services to all forms of surgeries from Thursday, February 6.
This comes after “fruitful” talks between leadership and stakeholders.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday, February 5 by National Secretary Frederick Kporxah, the stakeholders showed goodwill.
Registered anaesthetists withdrew their services on Friday, January 31, demanding an improvement in their conditions of service and fair treatment by the Medical and Dental Council.
The action had a negative toll on surgeries at some major facilities across the country, particularly in the Ashanti Region.
Surgeries at the Manhyia District Hospital, for instance, had to be referred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) as a result of the strike action.
The suspension of the strike will, therefore, come as a relief to many.
