Aduana Stars and Asante Kotoko have been involved in what many have described as a bizarre incident at Dormaa Ahenkro in the Bono Region.
The two sides played with ten players apiece instead of 11 on the field for 90 minutes.
Aduana defender Farouk Adams and Kotoko midfielder Martin Antwi were seen sitting on the touchline both waiting for the other to enter the pitch first.
The two coaches, Maxwell Konadu and WO1 Paul Tandoh for Kotoko and Aduana respectively, turned a blind eye to this incident and when Kotoko coach, Maxwell Konadu was asked why he did not start the game with 11 players in a post-match conference, he answered: “I can’t explain that”.
Aduana’s Samuel Bioh scored the only goal of the game in the 93rd minute to give his team their first win in four games.
This development has been linked to superstition.
Social media has been buzzing with many sports journalists and football fanatics frowning at this scenario, calling it a drawback to the Ghana Premier League.
