The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has confirmed the arrest of a soldier who assaulted an attendant and a customer in a pharmacy on Wednesday, October 29 in an incident that has since gone viral.
Name withheld, the soldier in plain clothes was captured on CCTV assault the customer, a lady, and hit the attendant in the abdomen before giving him several slaps in the face.
He even picked a ladder frame in attempt to unleash further violence.
Not even attempts by others later to restrain him kept him calm.
“The arrest of the suspect was carried out by Ghana Military Police personnel at dawn today Thursday 30 October 2025,” a statement issued by GAF said.
“The suspect is assisting in investigation over the incident.”
According to the statement signed by Captain Veronica Adzo Arhin, the victims have undergone medical care and are also assisting in investigations.
GAF assured the public in the statement that it will not condone any acts of assault on civilians and will not shield any soldier engaged in such.
