The Office of Special Prosecutor (OSP) has named six persons including former Minister of Finance Kenneth Ofori-Atta to be charged for corruption and corruption-related offences by close of next month.
These persons, according to the Special Prosecutor, are involved in one way or the other in a shady contract signed between Strategic Mobilization Limited (SML) Ghana and the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).
Addressing the press in Accra on Thursday, October 30, Kissi Agyebeng said the move is to recover about GH¢125 million from these six individuals.
They are former Finance Minister Ofori-Atta, Ernest Akore, a former advisor at the Ministry of Finance, Emmanuel Kofi Nti, a former Commissioner-General of GRA, and Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah, another former Commissioner-General.
The rest are former Directors of the Customs Division of GRA Dr Isaac Crentsil and Kwadwo Damoah, who is now the Member of Parliament for Jaman South Constituency.
