The Appointments Committee of Parliament will on Thursday, November 13 present before the House its report on the vetting of Chief Justice nominee Paul Baffoe-Bannie.
The report will be deliberated upon for approval before the much-publicised budget presentation by the Minister of Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson.
Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga had told the Speaker on Wednesday that the report was ready for consideration by plenary.
Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin had requested the report to be presented on Friday since the budget presentation was going to engage the House.
Speaker Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin called for a consensus, deciding to start Thursday’s proceedings at 12:00pm instead of 2:00pm in order to accommodate the presentation of the report of the Appointments Committee.
If approved, Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, who was vetted on Monday, November 10, will be sworn in by President John Dramani Mahama despite numerous suits by embattled Chief Justice Gertrude Araba Esaaba Torkornoo, who was unceremoniously removed from office.
