The Office of Special Prosecutor (OSP) has released private legal practitioner Martin Kpebu hours after he was detained on Wednesday.
The firebrand lawyer was detained after honouring an invitation to him by the anti-corruption body.
He is said to have obstructed an officer of the OSP from discharging his duties.
He was later said to have been taken to the National Investigations Bureau (NIB) for further interrogation.
His whereabouts was initially not known to his lawyers as they worked around the clock to get him released.
Lawyer Kpebu was released about half an hour past 10:00pm.
He mentioned the officer who caused his detention as Seth Ablorh Mensah and narrated that he had an exchange of words with a military officer at the parking lot of the OSP, convinced that may have instigated his arrest.
Mr Kpebu was invited to the OSP for questioning the competence of the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, particularly for the exit for former Minister of Finance Ken Ofori-Atta from the country.
The lawyer had alleged that Mr Agyebeng may have colluded with Mr Ofori-Atta over the latter’s departure just a couple of days to the assumption of office by the incoming government.
