Ghana’s coronavirus case count has shot up by 229 new cases bringing the national tally to 12,193, health officials announced Tuesday.
Four more persons, three men and a woman, have died of the virus , taking the coronavirus death toll to 58.
Of the current 7,813 active cases, 13 of them have been classified as severe while four of them are in critical condition and on ventilators
With 255,971 tests done since March, officials have put the positivity rate 4.76 per cent.
Recoveries moved up slightly from the previous 4,258 to 4,326.
Giving update on the virus Tuesday morning in Accra, Director General of the Ghana Health Service, Dr. Patrick Kumah-Aboagye said the new cases were recorded in 9 regions with the Ashanti leading with 70 cases.
Central region followed with additional 42 cases and Savannah region with 34 cases.
