Colombia’s Vice President, Francia Elena Márquez Mina, has led a high-level business delegation to the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority to explore investment opportunities and deepen trade relations between the two countries.
The delegation was received at the Port of Tema by the Director of Port, Tebon Zumah, and senior GPHA officials. Discussions focused on strengthening port cooperation, prospects for establishing a direct maritime route between Ghana and Colombia, and the signing of a memorandum of understanding to formalize collaboration.

Vice President Márquez Mina also extended an invitation to GPHA to participate in the African Trade Forum scheduled to be hosted by Colombia in March 2026, aimed at boosting Africa–Latin America trade engagement.

The visit concluded with a guided tour of key facilities at the Port of Tema, including MPS Terminal 3 and the Fruit Terminal, highlighting Ghana’s port capacity and growing role as a regional trade hub.
