Thirteen senior officers of the Ghana Police Service have been promoted in recognition of distinguished service, as part of efforts to reward courage, sacrifice and professionalism within the Service.
The Inspector-General of Police, Mr Christian Tetteh Yohuno, announced the promotions at a special ceremony held at the National Police Headquarters, where the officers were formally decorated.
Mr Yohuno said the promotions reflected the Police Administration’s commitment to recognising personnel who demonstrate perseverance, resilience and exceptional dedication in the performance of their duties. He noted that the beneficiaries had shown outstanding professionalism and commitment to national service under demanding circumstances.

According to the IGP, the gesture was intended not only to honour the officers but also to motivate the entire Service to uphold high standards of integrity, discipline and excellence.

He assured personnel that hard work and selfless service would continue to be acknowledged, stressing that merit remains a key consideration in career progression within the Police Service.
Mr Yohuno urged all officers to remain focused and committed to their responsibilities, adding that the nation depended on their professionalism to maintain law and order and protect lives and property.

The ceremony formed part of broader efforts by police leadership to boost morale and reinforce a culture of accountability and dedication across the Service.
