The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has promoted seventeen officers, including two senior officers, in recognition of their exemplary service and professionalism. The promotions, announced on 14th January 2026, highlight the officers’ dedication to operational excellence, discipline, and public service.
The Ghana Police Service said the gesture aims to acknowledge distinguished performance and encourage personnel to maintain the highest standards of integrity and commitment. IGP Yohuno, alongside members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), congratulated the promoted officers, urging them to view their elevation as a call to greater responsibility, leadership, and accountability.
“These promotions recognise the outstanding contributions of our personnel,” IGP Yohuno said. “We encourage all members of the Service to continue demonstrating professionalism, loyalty, and service to the public.”
The Service emphasised that rewarding merit and excellence is central to boosting morale and enhancing effective policing nationwide. By acknowledging officers who exemplify dedication and ethical conduct, the Ghana Police Service seeks to inspire all personnel to uphold the highest standards of duty in protecting and serving the nation.
The promotions form part of the Service’s ongoing effort to motivate officers and reinforce a culture of integrity and operational efficiency.
