The Managing Director of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR), Mr Edmond Kombat, paid a courtesy call on the Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Gas on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026, as the two state-owned entities moved to strengthen their operational partnership.
The meeting, held in Accra, focused on deepening technical and commercial collaboration between TOR and Ghana Gas, which supplies condensate exclusively received and stored by the refinery. Discussions centred on plans to expand infrastructure to enable the construction of a gas pipeline that would allow TOR to transition from fuel oil to natural gas for its utilities division.
The proposed switch is expected to support TOR’s move towards cleaner energy sources, particularly in powering its boilers, as the refinery works towards restoring full operational capacity.
Ghana Gas was represented by its Chief Executive Officer, Ms Judith Adjobah Blay, alongside Deputy CEO (Technical) Ing. Robert Lartey, General Manager for Engineering and Maintenance Mr Maxwell Kally, and General Manager for Commercial Operations Mr Stephen Borteye Jomo, among other senior officials.
Mr Kombat led the TOR delegation, accompanied by members of the refinery’s technical and management teams.
Both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to sustained cooperation, underscoring the importance of strategic partnerships in strengthening Ghana’s energy infrastructure and advancing cleaner fuel solutions.
