Portuguese Carlos Queiroz has been unveiled as the Head Coach of the Black Stars.
At a ceremony held at the Alisa Hotel in Accra, Carlos Queiroz was introduced to the press, who were also given the opportunity to ask him questions.
In his preliminary speech, the former Real Madrid coach thanked the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the government for the confidence reposed in him to be part of the Black Stars.
He confessed that the warm reception received at the airport on Wednesday, April 22 when he arrived tells of the soul of the team he is about to coach.
“I know this is the soul of the Black Stars. [On Wednesday] I saw and felt the vibration and realised that the soul of the Black Stars is huge.
“That means our dreams and expectations are also huge,” he said.
Asked what his vision for the team is, the former Iran coach said: “In this moment 99.9% of my focus is on success at the World Cup.”
Carlos Queiroz’s contract is for four months.
He is expected to take charge when Ghana play 2026 FIFA World Cup co-hosts Mexico on Friday, May 22 and Wales on Tuesday, June 2 before the tournament.
