Black Stars Head Coach Carlos Queiroz has cited personal reasons for which he will not be in the dugout as the team takes on Mexico in a friendly on Friday, May 22.
It would have been the first game for the Portuguese and his assistant, Roger Da Sa.
However, Desmond Sakyi Ofei has been handed the match to handle.
The former Black Satellites Head Coach had led the team throughout training this week as the makeshift squad prepare for the penultimate pre-World Cup game.
“Offei, who has supervised the team’s preparations since arrival in Mexico, will be assisted by goalkeepers’ trainer Daniel Gaspar and set-piece coach/video analyst Gregory De Grauwe,” the Ghana Football Association (GFA) wrote on its portal.
It is expected that Carlos Queiroz and his right-hand man, Roger Da Sa, will be back on Tuesday, June 2 when the team engaged Wales in their final preparatory match before the tournament in North America.
Ghana are in Group L together with England, Croatia and Panama.
