The Airborne Force Medical Centre at Barwah Barracks in Tamale has received Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) equipment valued at thousands of Ghana Cedis to support the facility’s delivery of specialised healthcare services.
The equipment include a Propulse Electronic Syringing Machine, Otoscope, Aural Speculum, Killian Nasal Speculum, Head Light and Foreign Body Set. The items are expected to strengthen the medical centre’s capacity to conduct ENT examinations and essential procedures.
The donation was presented to the medical centre on behalf of Kacstone Records by Warrant Officer Class II (WOII) Alhaji Seidu Masahudu.
According to the Managing Director of Kacstone Records, Wenawome Aborah, who is also the President of the Paga Youth Movement, “no patient should be denied essential ENT care simply because they cannot afford it”.
Management and staff of the Airborne Force Medical Centre welcomed the equipment, describing the support as timely and relevant to the facility’s healthcare needs.
In a letter of appreciation signed by Flight Lieutenant Emmanuel Yenubenant Moiko, Senior Medical Officer of the Airborne Force Medical Centre, the facility acknowledged the contribution and its potential impact on ENT services.
Flight Lieutenant Moiko noted that the equipment would help improve the Centre’s ability to provide ENT care to personnel of the Ghana Armed Forces, their families and members of the general public who access the facility.
The newly acquired equipment is expected to improve the medical centre’s ability to examine and manage patients with ear, nose and throat conditions, while expanding access to essential ENT services at the facility.
The development adds to the medical centre’s capacity to provide comprehensive healthcare services to the military community and other patients who rely on the facility.
