Ghana’s Covid-19 cases have risen to 18,134 following the confirmation of 393 new infections.
This was contained in a release on Wednesday, July 1 on the latest case count by the Disease Surveillance Department of the Ghana Health Service (GHS).
From the latest statistics, the total number of infections in the Greater Accra Region has gone beyond 10,000. The Region’s official cumulative tally is currently 10,087.
This is more than each of Ghana’s three neighbouring countries: Togo (661), Burkina Faso (962) and La Cote d’Ivoire (9,101).
Unfortunately, five more persons have lost the battle to the virus, bringing the total number of deaths to 117.
The recoveries/discharges have now reached 13,550, leaving approximately 4,467 active cases under care and management.
Out of these active patients, five are in critical conditions with all but one on ventilators.
Twenty are in severe conditions.
So far, over 300,000 tests have been conducted.
