Rejoinder: Miserable, inconsistent and hypocrite Rawlings can go to hell – Prof Afful Broni’s ‘boy’ calls his bluff

One day after former President Rawlings cautioned against the injustices and impunity at the University of education – Winneba, one Alhassan Salifu Bawah has presented a thesis which gravely ran foul of the parameters of logic and intellectualism and one sorely a poor attempt at sophistry. While this gentleman was unwilling to directly rebuff President Rawlings, he offered implicit criticism full of insults and eccentricity. I found much that was alarming about folks who should know better but foolishly engaged in child’s play in the era of enlightenment. But, whatever I may have seen as their limitations of character or intellect, neither was anything like as humanly impoverished as Alhassan Salifu Bawah is: ignorant of everything around him, and incapable of expressing or recognizing subtlety or nuance. Alhassan Salifu Bawah is berating president Rawlings for simply calling for the reinstatement of Prof Avoke – the former Vice chancellor who was illegally removed from office? So in the minds of the likes of Alhassan Salifu Bawah, no injustice has been done to Prof Avoke and therefore calls for his reinstatement by former President Rawlings is unheard of? You also see him exposing his arrogance in ignorance when he felt President Rawlings’s reliance on a report from the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO) for the reinstatement of Prof Avoke is misplaced given that it was the governing council that dismissed him and not EOCO. How sad! Crushing ignorance! Alhassan Salifu Bawah is obviously wearing blinders and can’t seem to remember how to take them off and see the reality. To all intent and purposes, Prof Mawutor Avoke and his colleagues have not been taken to any court and no charges brought against them. The alleged procurement breaches and financial malfeasance claims against them were dismissed by EOCO. And so on what basis did the new University Council upheld Prof Afful Broni’s appointment as the Vice chancellor of University of Education – Winneba, and for Alhassan Salifu Bawah to have endorsed this illegality and even danced naked in front of the intelligent public with his scathing attacks on Rawlings? How can this gentleman look at himself in the mirror for looking the other way while Prof Afful Broni engages, and gets way with this egregious act of cravenness, impunity and illegality? The likes of Alhassan Salifu Bawah may not know this but there are a lot of us with our eyes open to what is happening at the University of Education – Winneba. As far as I am aware the Avoke investigation yielded no results and rightly so, Rawlings have every every right to call for justice for the deposed Vice chancellor. Prof. Mawutor Avoke’s removal from office is a disgusting abuse of our democracy. All so that an elite few can prostrate themselves upon the altar of sectional and regional interest. And watching the way this chap twisted himself into pretzel on this saga and over Rawlings’ call was embarrassing. It was cringe-worthy, mean, juvenile and just plain ridiculous – It was a remarkable display of ignorance at its finest. In his never-ending wisdom, Alhassan Salifu Bawah stated that former President Rawlings is better of providing justice for persons he killed during his regime as a military leader of the country than his meddling in the issues of UEW. Whearas I would want to dismiss Alhassan Salifu Bawah as intellectually handicapped, let me quickly add that to make a specious claim for political reason(s) is a child’s game. Again, it is bizarre for any rational being to make such claims. Rather than blame President Rawlings solely for the execution of the Generals, the Alhassan Salifu Bawah should seek help for his dysfunctional brain and put it to better use by doing some research on the mood of the Ghanaian public during the short duration of the June 4th Revolution. While the revolutionary leadership do bear some responsibility for the some of the excesses that went on during the revolution, the Ghanaian public was/is partially responsible for the execution of these military officers. While I am not an expert, in punitive justice, to determine who gets what punishment, I am yet to see any Ghanaian who can beat his/her chest in denial that he/she did not support the revolution. It is funny how this untrained housepet sees no significance of the impunity and illegality of the actions of the University Council. Even more funny to the rest of us is that this same shortsighted lecturer is now smacking a hornet’s nest with no apparent plan regarding the consequences of this. If this is not the tipping point to show how unbalanced he is, I don’t know what will. Think about it. We are living in troubled times indeed. And it is not just Alhassan Salifu Bawah and Prof. Afful Broni that we must be worried about. We should equally be concerned about the current manifestation of the ruling class —the government that reluctantly appeared to accept the illegality being perpetuated at the University of Education – Winneba. Alhassan Salifu Bawah, the next time you want to rail against those promoting conflict at UEW, why don’t you start with the current VC – the guy who is illegally occupying Avoke’s position. Oh, that’s right, you can’t, because your lips are planted too firmly on his ass. I shall be back. Source: Dela Cofie]]>
