The contractor working on the Kpalbe Community Day Senior High School in the Salaga North District of the Northern Region has removed his equipment from site and abandoned the project.
The contractor, Hatoum Construction, a Tamale-based firm was on Thursday February 9, 2017 seen by residents allegedly packing molded blocks meant for the construction of the school into a truck.
The Assemblyman for the Kpalbe Electoral Area, Anas Karim revealed to 3news.com that the project which commenced late 2016 has been abandoned at the foundation level by the contractor. He said the contractor claimed no mobilization fee was provided for the start of the project.
When contacted on phone, Project Manager whose name was given as Hassan confirmed the non-payment of funds but denied packing blocks and his equipment from the project site.
The Kpalbe Community Day Senior High School is among projects commenced by the past National Democratic Congress in the East Gonja District under the hugely touted Community Day School.
