Football world mourns Cheick Tioté

The world of football has reacted with sadness to the passing of Ivory Coast international Cheick Tioté on Monday, June 5.

The 30-year-old midfielder collapsed while training with his Chinese club Beijing Enterprises.

The news has provoked well-wishes from the football family across the world to the family of the combative midfielder.

His former Ivorian teammates took to Twitter to express their sympathies.

Tiote last played in Europe for Newcastle United.

Both the Magpies and major English Premier League clubs also expressed their condolences.
