Captain of Ghana’s Black stars Asamoah Gyan banged in a brace for his Turkish side Kayserispor in their 4-2 pre-season win over German outfit Hannover 96.
This was the first time Gyan played in a European fixture after he made a move away from the English Premier League side Sunderland in 2010.
The Ghana captain came on in the second half and converted a spot-kick to draw the Turkish side level on 2-2 in the 83rd minute.
Three minutes later, Gyan was on target again to give his side the lead before Welliton scored in injury time to seal the win.
It was a bright start for the former Al Ain striker, who joined his new club’s pre-season camp last week.
Gyan, 32, is expected to score more goals to help his side settle for a good position when the 2017/2018 season begins.
