Chief Executive Officer of Uncle T United FC Isaac Tetteh says the current Black Star players are to blame for their inability to win against Congo in Kumasi and not coach Kwesi Appiah.
Ghana’s senior national football team recorded a 1-1 draw against the Red Devils of Congo on September 1 and ever since then football enthusiasts and pundits have pointed hands at the coach of the side as the primary cause for the draw.
But Isaac Tetteh, a one-time board member of Hearts of Oak, spoke to Onua FM, advising Ghanaians to accuse the players for lack of commitment rather than to put excessive pressure on Coach Kwesi Appiah.
“It’s about commitment. The players aren’t serious. They think they have everything in the world [and] they don’t need Ghana but they have forgotten on their passport their descent is from Ghana,” said the man popularly known as TT Brothers.
“The players have forgotten where they come from and what made them who they are. They have lost the passion to wear the national jersey. They have forgotten that immediately they don the jersey, they have about 25 million people watching [them].
“The coach is doing his best. You are deciding not to play for your own fellow and you have decided to play for an expatriate and respect him. What kind of common sense is that, in the future when you tend into a coach no one will respect you.”
‘Only miracle’
Mr Tetteh is sure that the only way Ghana can appear at Russia 2018 is for a miracle to happen.
“Only miracle can qualify the Stars to world cup. Now all countries have learnt how to play. There is modernization and every one can learn on TV. Let’s hope for miracle.”
