The prime suspect in the murder of Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu, the former Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North Constituency, Daniel Asiedu, has threatened to go to the International Criminal Court (ICC) to seek justice.
This was after an adjournment of the case on Thursday.
Asiedu is one of two accused standing trial for the February 9, 2016 murder.
On Wednesday, June 20, he told an Accra District Court that he was hired by some New Patriotic Party (NPP) insiders to kill the lawmaker.

After Thursday’s adjournment by the Court presided over by Arit Nsemoh, Asiedu, 21, began to rant and rave, TV3’s Selorm Amenyah reported.
Selorm Amenyah reported that the accused had raised his hand during hearing but was snubbed by the judge, who claimed she did not want any disruptions.
Nevertheless, she expressed anger at the prosecution’s constant plea for time.
Justice Arit Nsemoh wondered why the bill of indictment was not ready in time for a high-profile case like that of a murdered MP, bemoaning what would have happened if it were a grandmother in a little known village.
It was after her adjournment of hearing that Mr Asiedu threatened to go to the ICC.
‘Despondency’
He also pointed accusing fingers at NPP’s official Nana Obiri Boahen, who was in court to witness proceedings.
The suspect dared the Deputy General Secretary of the NPP to come clear on the death, accusing his party of using the late MP as sacrifice.
Speaking to journalists after Thursday’s proceeding, Nana Obiri Boahen himself expressed disappointment at the pace of hearing.
“It is not only frustration, [but] despondency also. Another adjournment again from the police? Investigator not present in court? How possible? What kind of society is the police painting for us?”
According to him, the whole world wants to know the exact details of the trial but the prosecutor appears nonchalant.
“I am not comfortable. I am not happy,” Nana Obiri Boahen poured out, threatening to petition the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and even the Chief of Staff over the matter.
The case was adjourned to Wednesday, August 15.
