A Deputy Chief of Staff at the presidency Francis Asenso-Boakye has unseated the Member of Parliament for Bantama, Daniel Okyem Boakye, to represent the New Patriotic Party in the December 2020 parliamentary poll.
He polled 456 votes in the Saturday primary as against the 122 secured by Mr Okyem who was seeking a second term.
The presidential staffer who is taking his first shot at the parliamentary seat won in all the nine electoral areas under the constituency.
Describing his victory as resounding, he urged all to rally behind him to win the parliamentary election in 2020.
