Staff of the Ghana Airport Company Limited Wednesday demonstrated against management for what they say is a move to privatize the country’s foremost airport. A memo from the Presidency to the Minister for Aviation, Joseph Kofi Adda, on March 24, 2020, approved the latter’s request to “facilitate the engagement of TAV-SUMMA Consortium as strategic partners to the Ghana Airport Company Limited”. Felicia Asamoah Dankwaa was asked to step aside for investigation to begin into the circumstances that led to the death of one final year student. Aide to former President John Dramani Mahama and a former Deputy Transport Minister, Joyce Bawah Mogtari, says news that she has tested positive for coronavirus is false. She said it is a propaganda being spun by the New Patriotic Party (NPP). The National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, has described as false assertions by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) that Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang cancelled the teacher trainee allowance in the Mahama-led government. The Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC) says the performance of the new biometric voter registration (BVR) kits has justified its decision to discard the previous ones. Director of Public Affairs at the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) Agnes Teye-Cudjoe has said the examinations body will go ahead with its plan of conducting the examination for final year students in spite of some schools recording Covid-19 cases.
