Ghana has recorded eight new deaths in the latest case count of the coronavirus disease in the country. The count, released by the Ghana Health Service (GHS) on its official website on Friday, July 24, sees the total number of deaths rise from 153 to 161. These deaths come barely a week after the last fatalities were recorded. The records, according to the Service, are those reported on Tuesday, July 21. The Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC) has announced that its specialised registration for the aged, the disabled and pregnant women at the district offices will now cover health workers and security personnel. In a statement on Friday, the Commission said this is an especial arrangement made for specialised citizens to participate in the ongoing exercise. Ghana’s coronavirus infections have gone past 30,000 as the Disease Surveillance Department of the Ghana Health Service released the latest case count on Friday, July 24. With 694 new cases recorded, the country’s total cumulative cases are now 30,366. The recoveries-cum-discharges were not that much, hovering around 26,000. They are precisely 26,687.
