The Deputy Bono Region Minister has attributed the skirmishes that erupted at some polling stations in Banda between some military officers and prospective voters to misunderstanding. Stevens Siaka said the inhabitants are relatively calm and the area is peaceful but misunderstanding between the army and the civilians caused the skirmishes. The military, who were detailed to the border section of the Region, stopped some people who were being bussed to register. This generated heated argument and key among them is the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, who was part of the convoy of bussed…
The compilation of a new voter register, which was heralded by controversy as a result of its resistance by some political parties and civil society organisations, is scheduled to end today, Thursday, August 6. Out of this number – exactly 15,108,687 – most applicants used the National Identification Authority (NIA) cards to register. These constitute about 57 per cent of the total number of persons registered so far. The controversy over the compilation shifted from resistance…

National Chairman of the People’s National Convention (PNC) Bernard Mornah says the party would have to change its normal way of campaigning in order to be accepted by the Ghanaian electorates. For him, since dirty politics is what the general electorates seem to accept, the party will introduce same in the 2020 electioneering campaign. “We can’t do the same things over and over again and expect different results,” he observed. “So radicalism will be introduced in the PNC in the 2020 elections,” he said to applause by party members in Wa, Upper West Region. He was addressing delegates ahead of…
Do not believe it when you are told that, the actors embroiled in the case between Tema Youth President, Wilfred Osei Kwaku Palmer, and the Ghana Football Association (GFA) have no emotional attachment to the issues put at the doorstep of the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS). Do not also accept it when you hear that, there will be no consequences on the current football administration and for Ghana football, if Palmer is granted the reliefs he is seeking. Depending on which direction CAS’s judgment goes, a lot is likely to happen on the Ghana football scene. That is…
