The Roads and Highways Ministry has terminated the road contract between the government of Ghana and Messrs Engineers and Planners contractors. The contract, which had the contractors working on the Tamale-Salaga-Makango road in the Savannah Region, according to the Ministry, was ended based on what they described as unnecessary delays in its completion. Ivory Coast’s former President Laurent Gbagbo has been barred from running for the presidency in upcoming elections after a court upheld the electoral commission’s decision to remove him from the electoral list. His lawyer Claude Mentenon told AFP news agency that there was no further legal recourse inside Ivory Coast.
