Ahafo Region became the final region to record a case of coronavirus in Ghana after a 38-year-old man was confirmed positive. As a result of the latest confirmation, Ghana has now officially recorded a case in each of the 16 regions. The Medical Superintendent at the Ga East Municipal Hospital, Dr Eben Oduro Mensah, has revealed that the centre is reducing the number of Covid-19 patients at the treatment base because of limited space for the increasing numbers. The country’s coronavirus case count continues to rise after hitting the 10,000-mark last Tuesday. The latest update from the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has seen 157 new infections recorded. This brings the total cumulative number of confirmed cases to 10,358 after almost three months since the first two cases were recorded in the country. A further 8,779 cases of coronavirus have been reported in Russia, bringing the country’s total above 500,000. The official national death toll rose to 6,532, after a further 174 Covid-19 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours. Nigerian police say they have arrested a man after 40 people were raped in one town over the period of a year. A mother in the northern town Dangora caught the man in her children’s bedroom, according to police spokesman Abdullahi Haruna. The man ran away but neighbours gave chase and caught him, he added.
