The Bunkpurgu-Nakpanduri District Education Director, Reverend Francis Kojo Ennuson, has lamented the furniture deficit for pupils in the district. He revealed out of a total of 10,589 pupils enrolled in basic schools, 6,307 representing 59.6 percent lack access to furniture, a situation he said has compelled pupils to study on the bare floor. He noted the deficit at the kindergarten level alone is 3,804. Addressing stakeholders at the Empowering the School Children Project organized by Aserd Ghana, Rev. Health minister and Conservative MP Nadine Dorries has been diagnosed with coronavirus. Ms Dorries said she has been self-isolating at home, – Labour MP Rachael Maskell said she has since been told to do the same as she had met Ms Dorries. The driver of the Yutong bus that got involved in the fatal accident at Dawadawa Number 2 on the Kintampo-Tamale highway was tired and sleeping behind the wheels, a survivor has revealed. Twenty-eight passengers were burnt beyond recognition as the vehicles involved in the accident caught fire. Six passengers, however, survived. The other vehicle, a Sprinter bus with a registration AS 1801-18, was from Kumasi heading to the north while the Yutong bus was from the north to Kumasi. Russian President Vladimir Putin has not ruled out running for president again beyond 2024, when his term ends. But he told parliament that the Constitutional Court would first have to approve such a step. An MP has proposed “resetting to zero” the number of presidential terms.
