The Technical University Teachers Association of Ghana (TUTAG) and the Technical University Senior Administrators of Ghana (TUSAAG) are yet to call off their strike actions despite an order to do so by the National Labour Commission (NLC). On Friday, January 10, the Commission met leadership of the two labour unions over their respective strike actions. Both are agitating for a reconciliation of their emoluments in line with all public universities. The Ashanti Regional Command of the Ghana Police Service has interdicted the officer who shot at a fan of Asante Kotoko after the club’s 0-1 loss to Berekum Chelsea on Sunday. The officer was interdicted at the instruction of the regional commander, Akwasi Mensah Duku. Police have arrested four of the leaders of some trained teachers who have been picketing at the premises of the Ghana Education Service (GES) on Monday morning. The trained teachers are demanding postings, having completed their training as part of the 2016/2017 batch. But the action on Monday was deemed an infraction of the Public Order Act by the police.
