Lionel Messi’s two second-half goals – including a stunning free-kick – earned Barcelona a handsome advantage and left Liverpool with an almighty task in their Champions League semi-final. The Reds were in the ascendancy despite going behind to Luis Suarez’s first-half strike – but they were then hit by a double sucker-punch from the Barcelona number 10. The Argentine forward’s first was instinctive, as he followed up Suarez’s shot that came off the bar, but the second was majestic as he found Alisson’s top-right corner from 25 yards out. That was his 600th goal for the Spanish giants. Liverpool came…

The Special Cup under the auspices of the Normalisation Committee overseeing the Ghana Football Association (GFA) began in earnest across the country as efforts at bringing back domestic football are doubled. On Sunday, 12 Ghana Premier League clubs took to the field in what is supposed to sustain them as the sport crawls back after the Anas exposé brought it to a grinding halt. At the Accra Sports Stadium, Kwadwo Obeng Jnr’s 48th minute strike was what separated Hearts of Oak from their steeled opponents Dreams FC. Abas Mohammed also achieved a similar feat for Asante Kotoko in their 1-0…
“The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it” What you’re seeing in the picture below isn’t huge eggs of some mysterious quails, neither are they the raw paintings of Leonardo Davinci. No! That is a raw photograph of uterine fibroids which were removed from the uterus of a lady in her early thirties three days ago. Right now, someone may be wondering, why this? I am a liberal Presbyterian, I pray to God often and I am also a believer of miracles. My life has been full of miracles and this is…
I think the very first word I heard from my dad as a child was ‘ you for look sharp’ yes, look sharp, be smart, shine your eyes. Accra we dey, life no be easy. Daddy of course seemed like a smart guy, yes he never lost an argument with mum and the days mum tried to stand her grounds, a slap was not far from her face. By class four, I knew school was not my forte. I was the hen of the class always laying eggs, I had to look sharp. I had to stretch my neck…
Former President Jerry John Rawlings brought joy to Emmanuel Ofoe, a physically-challenged street beggar, on Friday when he donated an undisclosed sum to him to cater for his daughter’s graduation as a hairdresser. Emmanuel, who rides in a rickety custom-made wheelchair with a CD number plate at the Kawukudi junction in Kanda, slipped a note detailing his predicament to the former President in traffic earlier in the week. The note informed the former President of the challenge he had in supporting his daughter who had completed training as a hairdresser in Ada, to graduate. Excited after the donation at the…
