Lydia Seyram Alhassan polled 12,041 out of the total valid votes cast on Thursday to emerge winner. All persons injured in the disturbances during the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election have been treated and discharged, 3news.com can confirm. In all, 18 persons were hospitalized at the University Hospital, Legon. There were earlier reports that only six persons were injured. A delegation from the Bloomberg Philanthropies in the United States of America has paid a three-day working visit to the city of Accra to acquaint with the progress of work on road safety. Accra was selected among 10 cities in the world in 2015, when the Bloomberg Philanthropies launched the initiative for Global Road Safety to promote safer streets.
