Zimbabwe’s Constitutional Court is due to hear a legal challenge from the opposition MDC Alliance to the election victory of President Emmerson Mnangagwa . He won by just more than 30,000 votes to avoid a run-off election. Former Chairman of the Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC) Dr Kwadwo Afari-Gyan says political parties in Ghana now believe in his statement that elections are won at the polling stations. He says a well-organised political party can know its overall performance in an election from the polling station results provided by its agents. People should no longer use the word “Mormon” to characterise the faith, the head of the Utah-based church has said. Church leader Russell Nelson urged both followers and non-followers to stick to the official designation “the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints”. Former President of Ghana Jerry John Rawlings has joined former world leaders to mourn the passing of former United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan. Mr Annan died on Saturday in Berne, Switzerland.
