US President Donald Trump’s campaign did not conspire with Russia during the 2016 election, a summary of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report says. The allegation clouded the first two years of Mr Trump’s presidency and his allies see the report’s finding as a boost to his re-election chances. But Attorney General William Barr’s summary is inconclusive as to whether Mr Trump obstructed justice. Opposition Democrats are demanding full access to Mr Mueller’s report. Having repeatedly described the inquiry as a witch hunt, Mr Trump said it was an “illegal takedown that failed”. Despite the inconclusiveness of the report regarding allegations…

There was a kenkey party at the inner court of the Ministry of Finance on Friday to celebrate what has been tagged Ghana’s “hat-trick”. On a banner sighted by 3news.com, the party is said to have been held to mark the successful Eurobond, the completion of the IMF-ECF programme and the appreciation of the Cedi. The Minister of Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta, was spotted in the photos eating what looked like local staple Waakye in traditional leaves that usually go with it. But most of the staff were seen eating kenkey. Source: 3news.com|Ghana
On March 22nd every year, the World celebrates “World Water Day” to draw everyone’s attention to the importance of freshwater to life and to advocate for the sustainable management of freshwater resources. The theme for this year’s celebration, which is ‘Leaving No One Behind’, leaves one with a lot to ponder about, seeing the yawning gap that exists between demand and supply for potable water in many developing countries, including Ghana. Interestingly, this year’s theme is linked to the United Nations’ 2010 declaration that access to potable water is a Human Right, as well as the United Nations’ Agenda for 2030,…

I do not purport to know much about forests but I know there is a saying, that when the last tree dies, the last man dies. I also do not know too much about the scientific linkages between the existence of water bodies and forests, but I know that wherever there are forests, freshwater bodies abound. I was therefore not surprised to learn that the Atewa Forest in the Eastern Region is home to the headwaters of three important rivers in Ghana. On 30th January 2019, I attended a public lecture and an exhibition organized by AROCHA Ghana, in which…
