A pro-National Democratic Congress (NDC) vigilante group called the Hawks halted the regional executive elections taking place at the Tweneboah Kodua SHS in Sekyere Kumawu in the Ashanti Region. According to the group, Joseph Yamin, who is contesting for the regional chairmanship post, is being handed a raw deal by some unknown hands. Indonesia is planning to bid for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the country’s president Joko Widodo has announced. It comes after a meeting with International Olympic Committee (IOC) president Thomas Bach on Saturday. Brazil’s top electoral court has ruled that jailed former President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva cannot run as a candidate in the presidential election because of his corruption conviction. Judges voted against his running in October’s ballot by a majority of six votes to one in the seven-member court.
