An Accra Circuit Court has refused to grant bail to the ten accused persons in the Kwabenya Police Station attack after applications filed by their lawyers. The Court presided over by Justice Aboagye Tandoh instead resorted to expeditious trial issuing a stern warning not to tolerate any excuses from both prosecution and defense lawyers. Saudi Arabia has for the first time opened applications for women to join its military. Women have until Thursday to apply for positions with the rank of soldier in the provinces of Riyadh, Mecca, al-Qassim and Medina. The roles do not appear to involve combat, but will instead give women the opportunity to work in security. Superstar Bollywood actress Sridevi Kapoor died of accidental drowning, a Dubai post-mortem report has said. The 54-year-old actress, known simply as Sridevi, drowned in her hotel apartment’s bathtub following loss of consciousness, it says. It had earlier been reported that she died of cardiac arrest on Saturday while at a family wedding in Dubai.
