The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has launched a scathing attack on the Akufo-Addo-led government on May Day, revealing that “for the first time in recent memory, Ghanaian public sector workers have been forced to mark this important day without receiving their monthly salary”. Barclays says its profits more than doubled in the first three months of the year, boosted by better performance across the board. Pre-tax profit for the first quarter was £1.682bn, up from £793m for the same period last year.
