A former Municipal Chief Executive for Bawku, Abanga Abdulai, has been elected as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Binduri constituency for the 2020 general elections. He polled 332 votes against as against Mr. John Atubiga Arabogo, who had only 14 votes and businessman Alex Joseph Avoka Asuma, who secured 68 votes. The Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu, has revealed at least 20 more people will soon be put before court for prosecution as his office winds up investigations into allegations of corruption against them. Zimbabwe’s former President Robert Mugabe has been laid to rest in the rural village where he was born, three weeks after his death at the age of 95. He was buried in the courtyard of his home in Kutama, about 90km (55 miles) west of the capital Harare. Mugabe died in a Singapore hospital on 6 September, nearly two years after a coup ended his 37 years in power. Ghana’s longest serving legislator, Alban Bagbin, says the systematic mass failure in the law entrance exams by law graduates is an indictment on the various law schools and their teachers across the country. A Deputy National Security Coordinator at the Kotoka International Airport, Hopeson Adorye, has been elected 2020 NPP parliamentary candidate for the Kpone Katamanso constituency. Mr. Adorye polled 321 votes, beating four other contenders – Prince Dadzie, who polled 56 votes, William Ofosu Asante with 203 votes, Mark Fuachie-Sobre, 22 votes and David Quaye Annang, who polled 46 votes. The Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu, has revealed his office has put a total of eight people before the courts for corruption-related offences, six of whom he disclosed are public servants.
