The 3Foundation in collaboration with MTN Foundation has presented a cheque for GHȻ112,320.40 to the National Cardiothoracic Center of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital to pay for the medical bills of five patients, who will be undergoing hole-in-heart corrective surgeries. The five beneficiaries, who are from needy families, were drawn from the Northern, Ashanti and Greater Accra regions in the charity foundations’ ongoing outreach programme, which focuses on helping children living with hole-in-heart. The First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo, has called for an open discussion on infertility to demystify the condition, which many misconstrue as a curse. The 2018 Auditor General’s report has identified major procurement breaches at the Ghana Export Promotion Authority. The report among other things cites questionable contracts in excess of five hundred thousand Ghana cedis. According to the report, in September 2017 and February 2018, the former Executive Secretary of the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) Gifty Klenam awarded two separate contracts for consultancy services totaling USD$123,000.00, the equivalent of 542,640 cedis.
