Members of the Bawku Municipal Assembly in the Upper East Region have confirmed Hajia Hawa Ninchemah as the Chief Executive for the assembly. Hajia Ninchemah who was rejected by the assembly at the first attempt, polled 23 out of 28 votes last Friday, representing 82 per cent. She becomes the first female chief executive of the Bawku Municipal Assembly. China’s economy grew at an annual rate of 6.9% between April and June according to official figures, slightly higher than forecast.
