The District Chief Executive Officer for Asuogyaman in the Eastern Region has promised to help revive the collapsed and abandoned Akosombo Textiles Limited (ATL) to create jobs. Samuel Kwame Agyekum said the ATL if revived, will create jobs for thousands of unemployed youth but it is being utilized. The DCE gave the promise in an interview with Onua FM after his confirmation as the president’s nominee for the Asuogyaman District. Places TV3 news team in Kumasi visited showed that illegal miners have suspended their operations and vacated their sites after a deadline given by the government elapsed. The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly has appealed to the government for an urgent financial support and legal assistance to deal with 50,602,874.43 judgment debt and 49 court cases. Gunmen have shot and killed a 15-year-old boy at Alavanyo in the Volta Region on Thursday evening. Another boy sustained gunshot wounds in the fatal attack in the precarious town today. According to residents, the attackers stormed the town in the afternoon and opened fire on the children.
