Over 5,000 Senior High School (SHS) students from schools in the Greater Accra Region have benefited from Lexta Ghana Limited’s ‘Teen Care Campaign.’ The nationwide campaign from the stables of the producers and suppliers of Yazz products and Hooch Foods was launched in February 2017 with the aim of visiting SHS’ across the country to educate students on how to properly manage their hygiene needs through the cultivation of personal and general hygiene habits in their adolescent years. Inmates at the Dansoman police cells use urine and sachet water to flush toilet due to frequent water shortage. The toilet facility in the cell is also in a deplorable state as water collects in the entire washroom area all year round. The medical doctor at the Achimota Hospital, Matilda Madiwa Adda who examined the victim of the alleged pepper attack by the branch manager of Marwako restaurant, said the lady reported at her facility traumatised. Energy experts have questioned government’s decision to cap electricity price, in terms of power purchases negotiation, at 10 cents per kilowatt hour, stressing that it will not attract investors into the power sector. Two persons have been arrested for possessing 500 rounds of ammunition at Agbogbloshie in Accra where violence clashes last week led to the death of one person and injured several others.
