Discussants on the special SONA edition of TV3’s New Day Thursday have been unanimous in their opinions, that the President needs to inspire confidence in the Ghanaian by delivering an address which will touch on all aspects of the economy.

Tax analyst and Senior Associate at Ali Nakyea & Associates, William Kofi Owusu Demitia, expects the government to be clear and precise in its policies, especially those that have to do with restructuring the financial sector.
According to him, the earlier policy, which saw the restructuring of the banking sector, took Ghanaians by surprise and that, according to him, caused panic withdrawals affecting some banks.

He observed that the setting up of the Office of the Special Prosecutor and the appointment of Martin Amidu as the man to head the Office were in the right direction but expects more to be done.
