Second year Senior High School students placed on the Gold Track would no longer go to school on October 15, 2019, the Ghana Education Service has announced.
This is because GES has rescheduled the re-opening date to November 12, 2019
“This means that form 2 Gold students are to report for the 1st semester of the 2019/2020 academic year on 12th November 2019 for academic work to begin,” a statement signed by the GES Head of Public Relations Unit, Casandra Twum Ampofo has said.
The decision, the GES explained, was arrived at during a joint meeting between the Management of GES and Conference of Heads of Assisted Senior High Schools CCHASS) Executives.
“It is anticipated that the new date would enable parents and students, teachers and education workers to prepare adequately for the re-opening of the new academic year,” the GES claimed.
In “apologizing” for the inconvenience created by the postponement, the statement asked staff, students and the general public to take note of the new development.
