Photos: Kum yen preko demo hits the streets

Pressure group, Coalition for Social Justice staged a protest on Tuesday over what it described as unbearable economic hardship in the country.
The group also raised concerns about insecurity as well as attack on media freedom among others.
By 8 am members of the coalition had massed up at the Obra Spot at the kwame Nkrumah interchange for the “kum yen preko” demonstration which literally mean kill us now.
Other groups which joined the protest were the minority caucus in parliament, the Greater Accra Market Women Association and Head Potters Association.
They also included the Concerned Drivers Union, True Drivers Union, Free Media Vanguard, Coalition of National Sovereignty Aggrieved Menzgold Customers as well as the unpaid customers of Gold Coast Fund Management.
National chairman of the Peoples National Convention, Bernard Mornah told 3news President Akufo-Addo has failed in the delivery of promises he made ahead of the 2016 elections.
Ningo Prampram MP Sam George indicated the economic hardships are unbearable calling on President Akufo-Addo to take a second look at his policies.
Convener of the Coalition for Social Justice Sammy Gyamfi noted the overwhelming turnout was a strong indication the masses are unhappy with the NPP-led administration.
General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah maintained they would do all within their power as opposition party to keep the government on its toes.
The “kum yen preko” demo, according to the Coalition for Social Justice, will be replicated across the country until government heed their concerns.
